Background of Afro's Tachi from Afro Samurai

Afro is a tremendously skilled swordsman from the anime and manga series Afro Samurai (アフロサムライ). When he was a child, Afro's father was jealously murdered by Justice, because he had the Number 1 headband. Whoever possesses the headband, inherits godlike powers and gains the title of world's greatest warrior.

Fueled by his father's death, Afro vows to take revenge against Justice, even though it means going up against the power of a God. Afro wields a tachi, a long curved sword with a square guard and a string with a small cowrie shell at the sword's bottom.
