Background of Link's Sword

Link is the protector of the Hyrulean realm. Link is a brave young man that is destined to save Princess Zelda and the Kingdom of Hyrule from the tyranny of the evil warlock, Ganondorf. To restore the peaceful and prosperous Hyrule, Link goes through a great series of trials and adventures that test his wisdom, courage and power.

Link travels through the vast land of Hyrule, collecting various items such as the Royal Broadsword, a rare and powerful weapon that the Royal Family of Hyrule awards to only knights of exceptional feats. Reminiscent to the Master Sword, the Royal Broadsword is a one-handed broadsword with a reverse wing-shaped crossguard imbued with the official Royal Crest.

Awesome but heavy

This is a pretty close replica of the Royal Broadsword from "Breath of the Wild" and "Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity". The main difference is that the markings on the blade are black, whereas they are white and yellow in the game; I figure this may be a limitation of the manufacturing process. It is very well made otherwise. Buyers should be aware that the sword is considerably heavier than a Master Sword would be. The sheath is quite nice as well. The description mentions nylon straps, though they're not shown in the listing photo. This is probably the weak point of the design. The sword's weight is such that the fasteners to adjust the straps' length won't hold the straps in place, so if carrying the sword and sheath by the straps, the strap will loosen to their maximum length. However, you'd want the straps at that length anyway if carrying the thing slung over one shoulder, and the ends of the straps are sewn to avoid them completely coming out. The straps could actually stand to be a bit longer if one wanted to have the sheath slung diagonally across the body (depending on the size of the person). Overall, the Royal Broadsword makes for a very good and unique alternative to the Master Sword designs that you would more typically find here and elsewhere.
