Captain Steve Rogers is one of the founding members of the Avengers - Earth's mightiest heroes in many Marvel comic book series and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As Earth's first superhero, Rogers was given the Super Soldier Serum, which enhanced his physical abilities exponentially. Participating in war bond campaigns, he became known as "Captain America", a symbol of courage and righteousness.

Captain America carries a shield with a white star in the middle, along with its red, white and blue pattern. It is made out of the nearly indestructible vibranium, the rarest metal on Earth. Captain America uses this shield both offensively and defensively, by striking and throwing the shield at his enemies or deflecting any incoming attacks.
