Replica of Orlando Bloom's character, Balian of Ibelin's Crusader Sword from the 2005 movie Kingdom of Heaven.

Balian of Ibelin (French: Balian d'Ibelin; c. 1143 – 1193), also known as Barisan the Younger, was a crusader noble of the Kingdom of Jerusalem in the 12th century. He was lord of Ibelin from 1170–1193. As the leader of the defense of the city during the siege of Jerusalem in 1187, he surrendered Jerusalem to Saladin on October 2, 1187.

This [sword] typifies the classic knightly sword that developed during the age of the Crusades. Typically, examples date to the second half of the 13th century. A defining characteristic is a long, wide blade with parallel edges, ending in a rounded or spatulate tip. The blade cross section has the shape of a lens. The grips, longer than in the earlier types, typically some 15 cm (almost 6 inches), allow occasional two-handed use. The cross-guards are usually straight, and the pommels Brazil-nut or disk-shaped.
