Background of Aizen’s Sword
Sosuke Aizen is the notorious commander of the Espada and the main villain in the manga and anime series Bleach. The Espada consist of the ten highest ranking and most powerful Arrancar, who waged war against the afterlife Soul Society. Aizen’s incredible intellect and immense power helped him create the army of Arrancar, who’s members possess powers which are far greater and more powerful than any of the other Hollows in the Soul Society.
The Kyoka Suigetsu (trans. “Mirror Flower, Water Moon”) is Aizen’s trademark Zanpakuto sword; which he uses to fight as commander of the feared Espada. The true power of his sword activates when he says his signature command “Shatter”. When released, the sword has the special ability to hypnotize its enemies, which gives Aizen the power to control the five senses of those around him. These hypnotic powers make this sword incredibly powerful in combat, as Aizen can create complex illusions to deceive his enemies in battle. The Kyoka Suigetsu has a diamond-shaped guard and green wrapping on the handle.
