Background of Cloud Strife

Cloud Strife is the main protagonist of the video game Final Fantasy VII and its remake. A former SOLDIER working for the Shinra corporation, he was gifted his iconic Buster Sword by his friend and mentor, Zack, upon his death. Upon defecting from Shinra, he became a mercenary and worked alongside teams from the resistance group Avalanche, an enemy of the Shinra organization. Although he seems to have an aloof and nonchalant attitude, Cloud is incredibly loyal to his friends and has many heroic qualities. He is known for his excellent swordsmanship and superhuman abilities.

The Buster Sword is a 5-6 feet long broadsword that is approximately 1 foot wide. It has a distinctive two-toned blade and slanted tip, with two holes in the blade that allow Cloud to equip materia (magic). After receiving the sword from Zack, Cloud uses it in many battles in Final Fantasy VII and it becomes his primary weapon.

Buster sword replica, prettty awesome and almost perfect

Got the sword two weeks ago and it's quite amazing. Sadly it's a bit warped but otherwise it's perfection (it is massive and heavy as expected). Slowly building up to being able to hold it enough to swing it once or twice haha.

The Best Version Ever

Pros:
Cheapest metal replica to date (Atleast 3x less than other sellers).
Functional and durable (Can swing full force. Blade won’t fall off and will cause heavy damage purely from weight alone).
Realistic and unique design (The picture doesn’t do it justice, it is a definite improvement to the ff7 remake design).
Light enough and heavy enough (Feels great to lift and light enough to swing, especially since it can handle full strength).

Cons:
Can rattle
Not as big

In Summary:
It is absolutely legendary. One of, if not, the only way to get a metal buster sword without breaking the bank. Along with its functionality, it is a dream come true. Initially I was surprised from the thickness and width of the blade, seeing as its only about 3/4 of the game. But i’ve come to love it as it makes the sword much lighter with more realistic proportions. The way they made the lines are also much cooler as you can see it shine from a distance because it is unpainted metal vs lines etched into the blade. The all black handle and guard also give it a more futuristic steampunk look. It even has a bigger circular handle below the guard, which really helps gripping and swinging the sword. The sword comes blunt though but can be easily sharpened.

Overall, even if you could find a 1:1 replica for the same price, Fire & Steel’s version has so many added benefits that can’t be beaten. Save yourself a $1000, ditch the foam, and get yourself the greatest metal buster sword the market has to offer.

Magnificent

Just a wonderful sword. I weighed it in at an actual 6.9 kilograms, so its quite heavy, don't kid yourself its nearly impossible to lift with one hand with no leverage. (as it produces ~64lbs of rotational force on your hand) ive tried swinging it around and its certainly quite hefty. otherwise this sword looks absolutely beautiful, the handle wrapped in leather provides a very nice feel in the hand. all the fittings seem to be very well secured. I will note, however, that the blade being a super long thin piece of steel, rattles against the extended parts covering the holes. This is definitely a reasonable downsize of the original for a cosplay, not to small, not too heavy. final note, this sword is truly magnificent, definitely would recommend!
