Background of Obito's Mask

Obito Uchiha is a member of the Uchiha clan, the strongest shinobi clan of Konoha in the anime and manga series Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. Considered to be dead, Obito pretends to be a masked man named Tobi in the Akatsuki, a notorious group of S-ranked criminals. He also pretends to be the legendary leader of the Uchiha clan, Madara Uchiha. By pulling the strings using Madara's identity, Obito eventually starts the Fourth Shinobi World War. To conceal his true identity, he wears a spiral-patterned orange mask with an opening for his remaining, right eye, having given his left eye to his friend Kakashi.
