Background of Tousen's Sword
Kaname Tousen is a respected leader of the Gotei 13, one of the armed forces of the Soul Society in the anime and manga series Bleach. He aspires to fight for justice and peace, vowing to protect others from evil as a way to honour the life of his deceased friend Kakyo. Tousen fights with his unique Zanpakuto sword Suzumushi.
The Suzumushi (trans. "Bell Bug") is a powerful sword that Tousen wields while fighting for the Soul Society. When Tousen releases the seal on the Suzumushi sword, he is transformed into a beast-like creature which possesses immense strength. Tousen has been blind since birth, but when he releases the power of the sword (Resurrecció) he gains the ability to see. The Suzumushi is a black katana with a unique tear-dropped guard and has intricate wrapping on its handle.
