Job description


Fire and Steel Inc. is a specialty retail and design company that is looking for the newest member to join our geeky team. We are looking to change the way traditional corporations operate by engaging more with our customer base.

We are looking for a self-directed individual who excels at creating and editing digital content for a variety of different media in a way that expands our brand. As a member of our small but growing team, you will be working closely with management pitching new ideas and executing them.

You will be expected to help update our company website, contribute to our company blog, manage our social media pages, including content generation for our YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter in a way that engages with the audience. The ideal candidate will have experience with managing social media, video and audio editing skills, writing for the web and broadcast, and digital media software experience. Comfort appearing on camera is also an asset, since you will likely be asked to appear on camera regularly.

Successful candidates will be passionate about working in a fast-paced start-up style environment and will have a can-do attitude.

  • Minimum 1 year experience with social media and content creation, including producing videos for YouTube, photos for Instagram, writing for blogs, etc.

  • Comfort with appearing on camera is an asset and great storytelling is a must

  • Legally able to work in Canada, ability to commute to the office (2505 Dunwin Dr., Mississauga, ON L5L1T1)

  • Experience with managing TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter

  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, Illustrator, Audacity or comparable software

  • Fast-learner, self-directed, organized, can-do individual who takes initiative

  • Fluency in English with excellent grammar and spelling is a must

  • Experience with podcasting, videography (fiction and documentary), and graphic arts is an asset

  • Interest in geek-culture

  • Familiarity with Shopify, Facebook business, Facebook Creator Studio, YouTube studio is a plus

  • Experience in social media marketing, marketing, advertising or related fields is an asset




Salary to be determined based on experience, 37.5 hours per week Mondays to Fridays. Full-time role. Start date is flexible.

Because of the nature of the work, you are expected to be able to come to work on-site.
