COVID-19 June 18 Update: Dynamic Shipping to Canadian Customers

To Our Amazing Customers,

*** The following announcement applies to CANADIAN orders ONLY. All orders outside Canada, shipping remains unaffected. US customers still receive flat rate shipping of $11.99 CAN and can still receive free shipping upon purchase of $200 CAD of products. ***

With the current pandemic underway still, Canada Post made some policy changes this past week to their terms of service that dramatically increased their shipping rates of "oversized" products within Canada. 

As a result, we've made the decision to switch to calculating shipping dynamically within Canada. Rates will vary across the country. An average sword order will cost around $15-25 CAD to ship domestically. An average small item will cost around $6-10 CAD to ship.

We highly recommend local customers to please consider selecting "curbside pickup" to pick up orders in person during our showroom hours if you can.
If you already placed an order, it hasn't been shipped yet, and you would like to switch to curbside pickup, please contact our customer support number right away: 416-768-3748. We are happy to refund you your shipping when you pick up your order.

COVID-19 June 12 Update: Store Hours Open WED-SAT 11-7pm

To Our Amazing Customers,

We wanted to provide you with the most up-to-date information as the COVID-19 situation evolves.

1) Is your showroom open? What about curbside pickup?

We are extremely happy to announce our showroom is open for business with modified hours starting June 13, 2020. Customers who do not wish to come into the shop can still choose to do curbside pickups. Please select "curbside pickup" as the shipping option when checking out. 
Our store hours/curbside pickup hours are: WED-SAT 11-7pm
Hours may change as required.

 

2) What are you doing to protect customers at your shop?

Our employees are expected to wear face masks and practice social distancing when interacting with customers. In addition there is hand-sanitizer and a hand washing station on the premises. Social distance protocols will be observed.

3) How long does it take right now to receive my online order?

Currently, orders usually leave our shop within 2-3 business days. They are then picked up by the shipping company.
Please note, though we pay for 2-4 day express shipping to our customers, we are currently told it can take 2-14 days business days for orders to be delivered within North America. This is not typical and this is the result of major backlogs at shipping facilities around the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.  International orders may take 6 weeks or longer. Please understand we are doing everything in our power to speed up the process as much as possible, while maintaining health and safety standards. 

 

3) Help! My order tracking has not been updating!

At this time, it's actually quite normal for order tracking to not update for days. We are aware shipping companies are experiencing backlogs and may not scan packages every day.
We've now even seen packages not being scanned for up to two weeks and then suddenly showing up at the customer's doorsteps!
Please be patient if your order tracking is not updating every day. It does not necessarily mean your package has been lost. It is extremely rare for packages to be lost.

 

4) New products are still being produced. 

This week we are finally releasing: One Piece Zoro's Enma katana (check back on our website this weekend!) and the matching katana Ame No Habakiri

5) What are we doing about COVID-19?

We are happy to still report that none of our staff members have been exposed to COVID-19 or are experiencing any of its symptoms. We will be gradually increasing the number of staff on the premises to fulfill back orders. In fulfilling orders, we enforce strict health guidelines to ensure your order is packed carefully with everyone's health in mind, including yours.

6) What about conventions and trade shows?

We are sorry to say that most of our trade shows and festivals for 2020 have unfortunately been cancelled for the year due to COVID-19. We will continue to monitor the situation as events reschedule. We encourage people to please shop for products online or come to our shop (if you're local!) since our prices are generally the same on the website anyway.

COVID-19 May 10 Update: Curbside Pickup Now Available

To Our Amazing Customers,

Since the last COVID-19 update, we wanted to provide our customers with the most up-to-date information as the situation evolves.

Is your showroom open? What about curbside pickup?

Due to a recent announcement by the Canadian government, retail storefronts will be allowed to open for curbside pickups starting May 11, 2020. This means even though our showroom is still closedany local customers who wish to pick up their orders in person, you can now select "curbside pickup" as an option when checking out.

Our curbside pickup hours are: TUE-SAT 12-7pm

Hours may change as required. Please note, this does not impact any online orders.

Has my online order been affected?

Orders are usually hand packaged and processed by our team within 24-48 hours. They are then dropped off with the appropriate 3rd party shipping company (ie. Canada Post, UPS, FEDEx, etc.), who takes the package and coordinates delivering to your address. To fulfill orders, we need to coordinate between our team and the shipping company. 

As of today (May 10, 2020), orders are still being taken on our website and fulfilled by our team as usual. There have been no delays on our end. However, we have just been notified by several of our shippers that there may be shipping delays on their end.

We are aware there are currently major backlogs at shipping facilities around the world. This impacts all online stores, not just ours. Please be patient if your order tracking is not updating every day. It does not necessarily mean your package has been lost. It is extremely rare for packages to be lost.

Our commitment to our customers is to ensure your orders leave our facilities as soon as possible, while maintaining health and safety standards. 

Hoodies currently unavailable for purchase, but all other products restocking as usual

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 severely impacting the hoodie material supply chain, and not knowing when things will go back to normal, we have made the difficult decision to refund any outstanding hoodie orders.

We have set them temporarily to unavailable for purchase at this time until we are certain again that we can fulfill the orders in a timely manner. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. 

The good news is that no other raw material supply chains are affected. This means any other products on our website that is marked out of stock will be restocking as usual. If you see an item you want that is out of stock, there is a good chance it will be back in stock in several weeks. (ie. Sephiroth swords)

Many of you have been asking about your online order statuses. As of today (Mar. 25, 2020), orders are still being taken on our website and fulfilled as usual. Shipping times have not been impacted.

You might be wondering how COVID-19 might be affecting our operations. We wanted to take the time to assure everyone that orders are still being taken on our website and fulfilled as usual.

However, due to the spread of COVID-19 around the world, many public gatherings have been cancelled or are expected to be cancelled in the coming weeks. This will inevitably affect our upcoming trade shows, conventions and festivals.

You can buy from us online anytime, rain or shine. For the most part, the price is the same online as conventions.

FAQ1: "WILL MY ITEMS ARRIVE IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS?"

 

The short answer is if you're in North America and you place an order prior to December 11, 2019, we can guarantee delivery by December 25, 2019.

If you're outside of North America, please place your order by November 30 to allow sufficient time for customs clearance and delivery.

This does not mean if you miss these deadlines that your order will not arrive in time, it just means we can no longer guarantee it with 100% certainty.

FAQ2: "WHAT ARE THE STORE HOURS DURING BLACK FRIDAY WEEK?"

Our store hours will remain unchanged during Black Friday Week. Our hours are: Tue-Fri: 9-5pm, Sat: 10-6pm.

 FAQ3: "HOW DO THE PRE-ORDERS WORK?"

Any item that is not yet in stock is a PRE-ORDER product and will be marked as such in the product description, along with the estimated wait time until the product arrives.

Once we have the product pages up for the pre-order products, you order it like normal. During Black Friday, there is a 10% discount off any pre-orders for new products. Please keep in mind, the estimated wait times are estimates only. Sometimes there can be delays of a week or two due to customs delays, etc.

No PayPal Account Required for Checking Out
